For the Uwimana family, finding enough food was a daily struggle.
Living in rural Rwanda, the family sometimes faced periods when their harvest was not enough to feed everyone in the household. When food is uncertain, everything else becomes harder. Children may struggle to concentrate at school, families worry about what they will eat next, and the future can feel uncertain.
KayP Foundation first supported the family with food assistance during a difficult period.
But the goal was not only to help them through one moment of hunger. The family was also supported with seeds and agricultural guidance so they could begin growing more of their own food.
With time, their garden began producing beans, maize, and vegetables. The harvest became an important source of food for the family and helped them move toward greater stability.
For the Uwimana family, the support meant more than receiving food. It meant having the opportunity to work toward a future where they could provide more for themselves.
Your support can help families meet their immediate needs while also giving them the tools and opportunity to build a more secure future.
