Eric loved mathematics and science, and he dreamed of becoming an engineer.
But when his mother's health began to decline, life at home became increasingly difficult. With younger siblings depending on him, Eric felt responsible for helping his family survive.
He left school and began working.
Instead of spending his days in the classroom, Eric was now spending them trying to help his family meet their basic needs. His education had to wait, even though his dream had not disappeared.
Through its sponsorship program, KayP Foundation helped Eric return to school.
Today, he is back in the classroom, learning and working toward the future he once thought he might have to give up.
Eric's story reminds us that poverty can sometimes force children to grow up too quickly. With the right support, however, they can be given the chance to return to school and simply be students again.
Your support can help a child stay in school when financial hardship threatens to take their education away.
